Naeco Reforest is an action that arises with the aim of encouraging the creation of forests so that they contribute to reducing the CO2 present in our atmosphere.
"In our commitment to sustainability, we wanted to launch an action that would serve to promote the creation of forests, as they are natural ecosystems that serve to absorb CO2, generate oxygen and fulfil many other important functions for our planet", says Antón Fernández, CEO of Naeco. "But, in order to make this possible, we set ourselves an objective: to plant one tree for every 50 tons of plastic that we manage to recycle through the sale of our products and thanks to the collaboration of our customers," he says.
Thus, by 2021, Naeco has managed to recycle 18.250 tonnes of plastic thanks to its customers, which is equivalent to planting a forest of 365 trees. In addition, this forest will have absorbed 71,13 tons of CO2 in 30 years.

Naeco, following its Asturian origins, has planted its first forest on Gulpiyuri Beach, a paradisiacal setting that was declared a natural monument in 2001 and which, in recent years, has suffered the problems of deforestation.
The Naeco team took part in the planting of this forest, along with their families and friends. A team effort with a clear objective: to reduce CO2 emissions and continue dedicating efforts to contribute to a better world. "We are proud to have actions like this in our "Naeco Loves You" space, as, in addition to helping the environment, we promote environmental culture and teamwork among all the people who are part of Naeco", says Covadonga Ajuria, Sales Director for Iberia & LATAM at Naeco.
With the Naeco Reforest initiative, Naeco reinforces its commitment to sustainability and to its customers, as the more plastic they manage to recycle thanks to the purchase of its products, the more trees they will be able to plant, generating new forests throughout Spain that help to absorb CO2 and generate oxygen.
To create its first forest, Naeco has collaborated with Bosquia, a company also from Asturias that aims to help companies to collaborate with reforestation throughout Spain.
