After the first Naeco Forest planted in 2021, the company repeats the experience in the town of Colunga in Asturias.
Naeco, in its commitment to sustainability and environmental conservation, has carried out the planting of a new forest as part of World Forest Day, which is celebrated on 21 March each year.
With this initiative, which it has carried out for the second time, it seeks to contribute to the fight against climate change, the protection of biodiversity and the improvement of air and soil quality. Through the Naeco Reforest programme, the Asturian company is committed to planting one tree for every 35 tonnes of plastic waste managed thanks to the collaboration of its customers. As can be seen on the online portal Naeco Loves You: https://love.naeco.com/,donde the company publicly shows its contribution to the environment, 13,265 tonnes of waste were managed in 2022.
The Naeco team itself has been responsible for planting this new Forest 2022, in collaboration with Bosquia, which accompanied them in their first reforestation in 2021. Teamwork that puts the spotlight on collective environmental awareness and improvements through unity and teamwork.
The new plantation is located in a unique site, near the coast, in the fishing village of Colunga, in Asturias.
It is made up of 379 trees of different native species, including holm oaks, beeches, walnuts, ashes, holly and yews. The new Naeco forest, together with the 365 trees planted on Gulpiyuri Beach (Asturias) in 2021, will be able to absorb up to 4.5 tonnes of CO2 per year.
Forests are essential for the health of the planet and human well-being. They provide habitats for wildlife, regulate the climate, improve water quality, prevent soil erosion and offer multiple opportunities for leisure and recreation.
This new Naeco Forest will not only contribute to environmental sustainability, but will also foster social commitment and ecological awareness among employees, companies and collaborators.
